My Weekend Vacation

My Weekend Vacation

Introduction: In this story I will be writing about my weekend vacation and I will also explain what it felt like and what we did.

One early morning the sun was shining brightly  through my bedroom curtains making my eyes hurt. I got up and walked in the bathroom and had a quick shower. When the water hit my skin, the feeling of the water was very soothing and warm. I jumped out of the shower and got dressed into a white plain shirt some shorts since I was dressed I grabbed my shoes.

I walked downstairs and the smell of bacon and egg filled my nostrils.
I saw my mum standing in front of the stove holding a spatula and moving the frying pan around. “Morning mum” I said walking over to sit across the island table. “Good morning sweetheart, you hungry?”she asked. “Yes, I am starving,”I chirped.

She chuckled and put some bacon and a eggs on my plate and toast. “Mmm smells delicious” I said. “Now eat up and I’ll go wake up the rest because we are going on a family summer vacation” she said. I nodded and started digging into my delicious breakfast.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Car Ride~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I looked out the window and saw people walking by, woman pushing their baby prams, people fixing roads. I was stretched at the back of the minivan.
The boot is full of full suitcases and all the spare seat has 3 small ones stacked up as well. We are on our way to the coast for the summer. Two weeks of swimming, sand and sun, paradise. It’s a 4 hour drive and we’ve been in the car for an hour and a half.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~At the Hotel~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We walked in and saw a doorman. Then we walked up to the receptionist and asked for room for two and he handed us two keys. We went in the elevator and started looking for room 246 and room 247. I came around a corner and finally saw it. “I found it. I found it!” I cheered. My mum smiled and walked over to open the doors.

When I stepped into my brother and I’s room, it was breathtaking. Everything was beautiful. My brother and I were walking around looking at everything and examining the great view from up here. Our mum stepped into the room smiling. “Okay kids, how about we go to the beach and have some fun?” she asked. My brother and I  started cheering and walked out of the room.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Beach ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was building a sandcastle with my little brother. The sun was very hot, which made me thirsty. Luckily my mum went and bought us ice-creams. My favourite treat in the summer. A few minutes later we went for a swim and I started splashing water at my dad. We were all playing a lot of different games and just having fun until we had to go back to our hotel and take a shower.
Group Two's Swimming Lessons
Group Two's Swimming Lesson from Team 4 Pes on Vimeo.
This week we have been doing swimming lessons with our Instructors at Glenn Iness pools. Our first lesson was rocket arms. "Off you go" said Laura. I swam towards her and finally took a long breath and went to the black island. As we were all there Laura told us we had to go back with the same lesson again. So we went back to the beginning and then she gave us a different lesson. We put our hands in the middle of the board and started to do the same thing again.
Going To Oamaru Creek
On a beautiful sunny day in the afternoon, our literacy group went off to Oamaru Creek to learn about it and where it goes to. We went off to the Nikau palms and began to count them and wrote it in our paper. Then Mr S told us a question about the air vents that water comes through and run into another air vent. After a while we went over to look where does the water go to. We followed along the water and suddenly found out where it headed to. The Creek washes over the mangroves and went off into the sea. Before it goes into the sea there's a pile of mangroves making it clean by holding creek water and puting out fresh water.
After all that we went to look at the rubbish catcher. So we walked along the path and went to Elstree ave and found the rubbish catcher. Then we had to answer the questions on our paper and it said how many meters is it start from the bridge to the rubbish catcher. 9 m or 10 m is what I answered.
After I wrote my answer down we sketched Oamaru Creek. When we were sketching the wind was against us. There was paper blowed by the wind and went into the water. We started drawing but the wind kept on blowing it away. Mr S said hold your papers still so it doesn’t blow away. When we were done Mr S told Me to collect the drawings and pencils. Then we were on our way back to school.
Waitangi Day
Waitangi Day
“Suddenly” This morning my Dad woke me up with a quiet voice, surprising me saying happy Waitangi Day. I went  off to the bathroom to have a shower,brush my teeth  then  ran to my Dad and asked “Where are we going this Waitangi  day”  He said “we  will be going on a field trip to the beach and cook a little barbecue there” I turned to the side and I screamed “YAY”!!!  I was really excited  I went and packed my swimming gear and went off to mum getting my breakfast ready for a long exciting trip to the beach.
      --------------------------------------Car Ride---------------------------------
I finally finished packing my stuff and got ready for the car ride to the beach. As we were on our way I suddenly got bored I asked my dad if I could turn up the music as the car is going. After that I saw sand and water on the way. “We are here” said Mum as she parked the car on the parking lot. After a while Dad told me to get the barbeque out and get out the food to cook. While me and dad were setting up the barbeque Mum went off for a swim. In a while Dad told me to go to play volleyball while he cooks the barbeque.
I went to the volleyball court and played there for two minutes  and went to check on my Dad if the barbeque is ready. “I am starving”  I said. I walked back and played volleyball again. After thirteen minutes  Dad shouted “lunchtime” I rushed to my dad and handed in my plate and he threw a  sausage sizzle and one chicken thigh. “Yum!!!”  I said and went to a shady spot to eat my lunch.
“Play time” I shouted, I went to my Dad and asked him, “Could I go for a swim” “Yes” he  replied. I ran to the back of the boot of my car and got out my swimming gear and went for a swim. As I was swimming I saw Mum saying “paddle paddle”. I suddenly felt something  tickling my toes I laughed  and giggled. After that my Dad  and Mum told me to go changed now. I hopped out of the water and went into the changing room to get changed. “Hurry” said Mum. I rushed off to the car and went home.
