Consolidation Mathematics : Week 10


Miss Clark has three large pizzas that she has to share with twelve people including herself. What fraction of the pizzas does Miss Clark get to eat?

12 ÷ 3=4
3 x 4 =12

What is ⅖ of 45? 18

45 ÷ 5=9
9 x 2=18


James has 32 lollies in a bag, he eats 1/4 of his lollies. How many lollies does James eat?

1/4 of 32=8
32 ÷ 4=8
8 x 1=8

Michael knows that walking to school takes 45 minutes. Walking to his nanas house only takes ⅓ of that time. How long does it take to walk to nanas?

1/3 of 45=15
45 ÷ 3 =15
15 x 1=15

I went for a bush trek for one whole day. After I timed myself I had been walking for 8 hours. I walked back in ¾ of the time as I was walking back down hill. How long did it take me to walk back?

3/4 of 8=6
8 ÷ 4=2
2 x 3=6

What is ¼ of 200?

200 ÷ 4=50
50 x 1= 50

What is ¾ of 200?
200 ÷ 4=50
50 x 3=150
Mum gave me $300 for xmas I spent $¼ of it buying a top for myself. How much was my top?

1/4 of 300=75
75 ÷ 4=18 r3
18 r 3 x 1=18 r3

James got paid $180 a day from work. He spent ½ on his groceries, how much did he spent on his groceries?

1/2 of 180=90
180 ÷ 2=90
90 x 1=90

What is 5/12 of 60?

5/12 of 60=25
60 ÷ 12=5
5 x 5=25

What is 3/7 of 63? 27

63 ÷ 7=9
9 x 3=27

What is 9/12 of 156?

156 ÷ 12=13
13 x 9=117

I calculated that all together I walked to school for 64 minutes per week. Mum drove me once a day however of that week. How many minutes did I walk per day?
